At Commonspace Collective, we bring the coolest local experiences to life in a way that inspires community connection and creates memorable, shareable moments of WOW for our clients across the city.
Our local collective of event partners spans creative industries - from mixology to street art to astrology, fitness, skincare and beyond - and our clients include luxury residential management companies like One Chicago and One Bennett Park, corporate teams like Instagram and Lincoln Properties and individual private event clients who are looking to bring their personal celebrations to life in their own commonspace or in our new beautiful Commonspace Studio (coming soon!)!
We are looking for an incredible Event Intern to join our team and help us in our mission to create WOW for our clients! The Event Intern will support and gain exposure to event marketing, event logistics, partnership marketing and community building event initiatives in a fun, vibrant start-up environment. The ideal candidate will have a career interest in marketing, events or a related field.
We have big plans for this business and we’re looking for enthusiastic teammates to join us on this adventure & grow with us!
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Event Marketing & Logistics:
Collaborate with team on event menus and concepts
Support planning and logistics for workshops, pop-ups and keystone events
Work with team to source and secure event decor and vendors for events
Support Event prep at the Commonspace Studio - prepare event materials, package takeaway kits, inflate balloons and build balloon garland and other decor items, organize event kits and materials for day-of delivery
Provide day-of onsite support for Commonspace Collective events at various client locations in Chicago (load event materials in and out of the event, setup decor, greet guests, manage vendors and onsite team)
Studio Support:
Support Logistics and Event Prep of In-Studio Events
Onsite support for In-Studio Event
Social Media Marketing:
Support overall social media strategy by providing onsite social media coverage of events on Instagram that follows brand standards and highlights our work in an exciting, captivating way
Partnerships:
Support local partnership efforts by researching and building relationships with local creators and businesses that we can partner with to bring WOW to clients

Strong logistics and operations skills
Obsessed with good design and has an intuitive eye for event design, space planning, event styling, current aesthetics and trends
Deep passion for Chicago with a finger on the pulse of its small business and cultural community
Experience and creativity in using social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook & TikTok
Agile problem-solver
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mentality; able to take ownership of projects and see them through from inception to production
Ability to multi-task and switch between different projects and priorities seamlessly
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years of age and enrolled at an accredited college or university
Some previous work experience required
Access to a working computer and phone with internet access required
Experience with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.)
Ability to lift to 30 lbs. unaided, if needed
Ability to work in a hybrid work environment - remotely, in-studio and on-site for events
Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends
US Driver's License with ability to drive cargo van (not 100% necessary but very helpful)
Has access to a car or SUV (not 100% necessary but very helpful)
Willingness to become a Certified Bartender (we cover the training)
Career interest in marketing, events or related field
SALARY & BENEFITS:
Internship duration is May - August with an option to extend into Fall/Winter pending performance
This position will be based out of Chicago with time split between remote work, Commonspace Studio and onsite at client locations within the Chicago area
The compensation for this internship is class credit, if applicable, and $15/hour
Minimum 10 - 12 hours per week with flexible schedule options and opportunity for more hours
