Job Overview: We’re seeking enthusiastic Onsite Event Porter Staff members to play a crucial role in the event set, loading and logistics that make our events successful. This hands-on role involves physical work, from loading and transporting equipment to setting up and tearing down event spaces. Key Responsibilities:
Event Logistics & Manual Labor:
Provide physical support for events across Chicago, ensuring all equipment and event materials are loaded, delivered, and set up according to plan.
Engage in manual tasks such as picking up, loading, unloading, and setting up event equipment and hardscape elements.
Set up and teardown of event materials, requiring physical strength and attention to detail.
Maintain and assist in the construction of event props and hardscape items (e.g., painting bars, building backdrops).
Assist the Event Lead with heavy lifting and moving large event decor and equipment.
Studio Support:
Pick up event materials at the studio, load the van, and transport them to event locations, requiring strong manual handling skills.
Assist in the maintenance and storage of event equipment, ensuring everything is organized and in good condition.
What You Bring:
Strong ability to lift up to 80 lbs unassisted and work on physically demanding tasks regularly.
A positive attitude and willingness to work hard in a team environment.
A flexible schedule with availability for evenings and weekends.
Ability to handle the physical demands of loading and unloading equipment, setting up heavy materials, and packing up post-event.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Some previous work experience in manual labor or event setup preferred.
US Driver’s License is preferred.
Willingness to become a Certified Bartender (we’ll cover your Bassett certification).
Salary & Benefits:
Hourly Rate: $17-20 per hour (averaging $100 per event, 2-3 events a week).
